For an urn, one clear photo of their face is enough to begin. For a felted piece or a printed figure, send a few more: clear photos from the front, both sides and above, plus one face photo in daylight and one with a coin or your hand beside them for scale. Choose an unfiltered face photo taken in daylight. The eyes should be visible and in focus. Phone photos are fine.
If you have a choice, choose the photo where they look most like themselves to you, not the most beautiful one. The way they held their head. The one ear that never stood up straight. We can work from that.
Photos that are harder to work from: very dark rooms, heavy blur, a face turned fully away, or strong filters that change the colors. If those are the only photos you have, send them anyway. We will tell you honestly what we can do.
If you are unsure, send two or three and we will choose with you.
